Ingredients

1/2 c solid shortening

1/2 c granulated sugar

1/2 c smooth peanut butter

1/2 c brown sugar

2 T milk

1 3/4 c flour

1 t vanilla

1 t baking soda

1 egg

30 hershey’s kisses (1/2 of a 9oz bag of kisses)

Preparation

Cream sugars, shortening and peanut butter together in a large bowl. Add milk, vanilla and egg, blend. Add flour and baking soda; mix on low speed until dough forms.

Shape dough into balls by the rounded teaspoonsful. Roll balls in additional granulated sugar, and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes, until golden. Unwrap hershey’s kisses and top each hot cookie immediately - pressing down to cookie cracks around edge.
