Ingredients
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
2 Tbsps oil or melted butter
1 cup flour
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
To Make Walnut Pancakes:
1/4 cup walnuts - finely chopped
2 Tbsps sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Preparation
Whisk together the egg, buttermilk and oil or melted butter. Stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Heat griddle and brush with butter if needed. Stir liquid into dry ingredients and whisk until smooth. Pour onto hot griddle. When bubbles form, turn once and cook until golden. To Make Walnut Pancakes: Stir together the walnuts, 2 Tbsps sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle onto pancake after poured and before turned over.
Many different things can be added to the pancakes Such as: blueberries, bananas, chocolate chips.
