Ingredients
6 C white flour
4 C wheat flour
2/3 C sugar
3 ½ T Baking powder
2 T Soda
2 T Salt
2 C non-instant milk or 3 ½ C instant milk
Sift together
Preparation
To make Pancakes 1¼ C pancake mix 1 egg 2 T oil or soft shortening 1 T Vinegar in cup then fill remainder with the water 1 C Water
For waffles, increase oil to ¼ C
For variety, I often added a 1 C apple sauce or fresh ground apples, cinnamon or one mashed bananas.
If you separate the egg whites and beat them and add them at the last, it will make the pancakes lighter.
I use to mix 4-5 times the recipe in a 5-gal bucket and always had lots of mix on hand.
