12 T (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter

3 garlic cloves, minced

2 C fresh bread crumbs made from homemade-style white bread

2/3 C freshly grated parmigiano-reggiano cheese

2 tsp. kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

1 3 1/2 lb. chicken, cut into 10 pieces (or all thighs, wings, or breasts, if desired)

Preheat oven to 350.

Heat butter and garlic in saucepan over med. heat until butter melts. Pour into a bowl and let cool to room temp.

Mix the bread crumbs, cheese, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Dip each piece of chicken into the melted garlic butter and then into the bread crumb mixture, turning to coat all sides.

Arrange chicken in a single layer in a large jelly-roll pan. Drizzle with any remaining garlic butter.

Bake until lightly browned and just cooked through, about 50-60 minutes.
