Ingredients
1/2 cup scalded milk-cooled. (when it’s warm add 1 Tablespoon of yeast)
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 and 1/2 cup flour
1 Tablespoon orange zest
1/4 cup orange juice plus 2 T.
1 egg
1 cup powdered sugar
Preparation
After adding the yeast to the warm scalded milk, let cool and add the sugar, margarine, and salt. Then add the flour (adding 1/2 cup at a time) , the orange zest, orange juice, and egg.
Knead until smooth. Let stand for ten minutes. Roll out into a rectangle. Spread the juice of one orange on it; sprinkle with white sugar (about 1/2 cup and 1 tablespoon of orange zest).
Roll up like cinnamon rolls and cut into one inch slices. Put onto a well greased baking sheet and let rise for 15-20 minutes.
Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.
When done glaze with 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 Tablespoons of orange juice.
