Ingredients
2/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. orange juice
2 T. grated orange rind
2 c. flour
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
Frosting: 2 - 1/2 T. soft butter
1 - 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
1 - 1/2 T. orange juice
2 t. grated orange rind.
Preparation
Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, orange juice, and rind and mix. Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together and add to mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cooky sheet. Bake 8 - 10 minutes til delicately brown.
Frosting: Cream butter and sugar together. Stir in juice and rind until smooth and spreading consistency and frost.
