Ingredients

2 loaves onion bread

(add 1 pkg onion soup mix

to dough for 2 white loaves)

2 t salt

1/2 t pepper

1 1/2 t sage

1 t thyme

1 T poultry seasoning

1 T chopped fresh rosemary

3/4 c shortening

3/4 c minced onion

6 T butter

2 c turkey (or chicken)broth

Preparation

Trim crusts from bread and cube loaves. There should be about 18 cups. Spread onto baking sheets to allow to dry out. (May put in 250* oven)

Combine seasonings and mix well.

Fry onions in shortening. Add bread cubes and herb mixture and saute til browned and crisped. (Do this in 3 batches)

Pour mixture into 3 qt casserole dish. Melt butter in broth and pour over mixture.

Cover with foil and bake at 350* for about 30 min.
