Ingredients

Oma’s Sweet Onion Salad

2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil

2 Tablespoons Water

2 Tablespoons White Vinegar

3 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar

1 large Sweet Onion, sliced very thin

4 ounces Cooked Ham, diced

4 ounces Edam Cheese, diced

1 medium Granny Smith Apple; peeled, cored, and diced

1/2 cup chopped Dill Pickle

1 Cup Salad Dressing, Mayonnaise type

Preparation

In medium salad bowl, combine oil, water, vinegar, and sugar. Add onion. Mix thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate overnight. When ready to serve, drain liquid from the onion mixture. Add ham, cheese, apple, pickle, and salad dressing. Mix well. Serve with crusty bread.
