Ingredients

10 cups 2% Milk,

1 teaspoon Salt,

3-5 cups Rice,

1/2 -1 cup Raisins,

5 lg Eggs,

1 teaspoon ground Cinnamon,

6 teaspoon Vanilla extract,

1 1/2 cup white Sugar.

Preparation

  1. Bring 9 cups milk, 1 teaspoon salt, to simmer in large pot. ETA 10 min
  2. Reduce heat to low.
  3. Add rice, raisins, cover an gently simmer until rice is tender and liquid starts to thicken. ETA 20 min
  4. Whisk 1 cup milk, 5 eggs, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 6 teaspoon vanilla, 1 1/2 sugar, in medium bowl.
  5. Gradually stir in egg mixture into rice mixture on stove. Stir over low heat until mixture is thickens some more. ETA 5 min
  6. Transfer to setting pan or bowl and cool 2-3 hours. Depends on thickness of bowl.
