Ingredients
32 pieces Brach caramels (32 pieces = 8.6 oz)
5 tablespoons evaporated milk
1 cup flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup margarine or butter, melted
Preparation
In a heavy saucepan, melt the caramels and evaporated milk over low heat, stirring frequently.
Mix flour, oatmeal, sugar , baking soda, and salt. Add melted butter.
Press half of the oatmeal mixture into a 9" square pan.
Bake 10 min at 350F.
Remove from oven and pour over the caramel, sprinkle with nuts, chocolate chips and remaining oatmeal.
Bake 15-20 minutes at 350F.
Cool several hours before cutting.
