Ingredients

Crust:

2 sticks margarine

1 1/2 cups light brown sugar

2 cups all purpose flour

2 cups oatmeal (any variety)

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

Filling:

1 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup caramel sauce (topping for ice cream)

3 Tbsp flour

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In medium bowl mix flour, oatmeal, salt and baking soda. Mix well and set aside. In large bowl mix margarine and sugar. Add flour mixture 1 cup at a time and mix with fork. Mixture will be crumbly. Press half the mixture into a greased 13" x 9" baking dish. Bake for 10 min. While crust is baking, prepare filling by mixing caramel sauce and flour. Remove crust from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over top. Drizzle caramel sauce over chips, then cover with the remaining crust mixture. Bake for 15-20 min until golden brown. Cool for 2 hours. Cut into squares.
