Ingredients

1¼ cups boiling water

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup brown sugar

½ cup canola oil

1 cup granulated white sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla extract

Powdered sugar

1¼ cups white flour + 2 tsp. white flour

1 tbsp. baking powder

½ tsp. salt

½ tsp. cinnamon

½ tsp. nutmeg

Preparation

  1. Mix boiling water, oats and brown sugar in a mixing bowl and let stand for 5-10 minutes

  2. Cream oil, white sugar, eggs and vanilla using a mixer in another bowl

  3. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.

  4. Mix the above three sets of ingredients in a large mixing bowl until reasonably smooth.

  5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.

  6. Grease a 9"x13" baking dish.

  7. Pour batter into baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.

  8. When done, sprinkle with powdered sugar and let cool.

  9. Cut into desired serving size.
