Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. ground walnuts or pecans

2 Tbs. unsalted butter

1 c. cream or milk

1 c. sugar

pinch salt

2 tsps. nutmeg

Preparation

Melt butter in large pan and toast nuts. Caution: they burn easily. Add 3/4 c. cream; salt and sugar. If paste is too thick, add remaining cream as necessary–paste should be thick but spreadable. Add nutmeg and cool.
