Ingredients
½ cup butter, room temperature
¾ cup light brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon real vanilla
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cups flour
1 teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon cinnamon
2/3 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 heaping teaspoon powdered sugar
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 375*F.
Cream the butter and sugar until smooth and light. Beat in the egg, then add the vanilla and salt. With the mixer on low, stir in the flour, nutmeg and cinnamon, then stir in the nuts.
Drop the dough by teaspoons onto lightly greased cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake until lightly browned on top and slightly browned on the bottom, about 8 minutes. Let cool on rack, then dust with icing sugar.
