Ingredients

Place beans, ham in 8 cups water in med heat

Reduce med/ low till tender about one hour

Heat butter sauté finely choppe onion till tender, 5 min

Place in beans, reduce heat to low

Preparation

Reove ham hock, cool, remove meat, and chop

Discard bone n fat

Add finely chopped meat to soup Mash some beans, to thicken soup
