Ingredients

1/4 ounce yeast

1 Cup warm water (80*F or as your yeast package recommends)

1 large egg, beaten

3 Tablespoons milk

1 Tablespoon white sugar

2 teaspoons salt

4 1/2 Cups bread flour

3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Preparation

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large glass bowl. Let stand 10 minutes or until cloudy.

  2. Stir in egg and milk.

  3. Stir in sugar and salt.

  4. Stir in enough flour to make dough soft.

  5. Knead on a floured surface.

  6. Set aside in an oiled bowl covered with a damp cloth to rise for one hour or until doubled in size.

  7. Punch down dough. Divide into 1" diameter balls.

  8. Place balls on tray, cover with a towel, and let rise 30 minutes or until doubled in size.

  9. Preheat a grill to high heat.

  10. Roll balls into ovals.

  11. Lightly oil grill.

  12. Grill naan, 2-3 minutes per side, lightly brushing each side with butter.
