Ingredients

1 c. diced candied dates

1 c. boiling water

1 tsp baking soda

1 c. shortening / margarine

1 c. sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

1 3/4 c. Flour

1 tsp salt

2 Tbs Mayan Cocoa

2 c. chocolate chips

Preparation

Combine dates and 1 tsp baking soda in boiling water. Allow to completely cool.

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla

Sift flour, salt and cocoa together

Combine cooled date and cream mixture, stir in flour mixture

Pour into 9 x 13 baking pan Top with chocolate Chips Bake @ 350 for 30-40 mins.
