Ingredients

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup dark corn syrup

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1 cup flour

2 teaspoons brandy

1 cup (6 ounces) morsels

1 tablespoon shortening

1/3 cup chopped nuts

Preparation

Melt butter, sugar, corn syrup, cinnamon and ginger in a medium saucepan over low heat stirring until smooth. Remove from heat, stir in flour and brandy. Drop by rounded teaspoon about 3 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets, baking not more than 6 at a time.

Bake in a preheated oven at 300 degrees for 10-14 minutes or until they are a deep caramel color. Let stand for a few seconds. Remove from the baking sheets immediately and roll around a wooden spoon handle, place on a cookie sheet to cool.

Melt chocolate chip morsels and dip cookie halfway into the chocolate. Then sprinkle the chocolate end in chopped walnuts. Chill for about 10 minutes.
